A doula is a trained professional who provides comprehensive care to mothers and their families, offering emotional support, physical assistance, information, and advocacy throughout pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period. My goal is to help you achieve the healthiest, most satisfying experience possible as you navigate this important journey.


Here are some of the ways I can assist you, your baby, your partner, and your family:


Pregnancy (Antepartum): 

– Birth education and preparation

– Breastfeeding education and preparation

– Support with breast pump sterilization, assembly, and usage 

– Newborn care education and preparation

– Postpartum care education and planning 

– Creating a postpartum support plan

– Shopping for baby: registry tips, tricks, and information

– Emotional and physical support as you prepare for labor


Birth: 

– Providing emotional, physical, and informational support during labor and delivery

– Advocacy to ensure your birth plan is respected 

– Staying with your family in the immediate hours post-delivery to help settle in (if desired)

– Checking in on your family in the initial 48 hours after birth (if desired)


Postpartum (0 to 3 Months):

– Supporting your emotional and physical recovery after birth

– Supporting your family as you adjust to new roles and routines (partners, siblings, and pets)

– Providing hands-on newborn care education and assistance

– Providing feeding support (breast, pump, and/or bottle)

– Assisting with an outing to practice your new skills with confidence, such as feeding, diapering, and soothing on-the-go

– Teaching newborn soothing techniques, including swaddling and baby-wearing

– Light housekeeping and assistance with meal planning, prep, or grocery shopping

– Helping plan and support major transitions, such as returning to work 

– Overnight stays available to help you get the rest you need! 

 

First Year (3 Months to 1 Year Postpartum):

– Ongoing support for physical and emotional adjustments as you navigate life with a baby (i.e., troubleshooting)

– Assistance with planning and supporting you during important transitions (e.g., return to work) and milestones (e.g., first night alone with the baby, first overnight away, holidays and special occasions)

– Guidance through sleep regressions, sleep learning, and other sleep challenges your family may encounter (overnights available)

– Continued breastfeeding support, as well as assistance with introducing solid foods and addressing any feeding challenges
