Additional Information about Rates:

You may have noticed that doulas can vary considerably in how much they charge for their services depending on the service area, their level of experience, education and training, and the demand for their services. You can expect to find rates for a trained, professional doula will begin around $25/hour and can go upwards of $65/hour. My rates reflect my education, training, and experience and also include travel time to your home up to 45 minutes. However, I completely understand that doula expenses may not fit all budgets. If the cost of hiring quality support is a barrier to you getting the help you need, I highly recommend asking for doula care as a pregnancy or postpartum gift when your friends and family inquire what you need or what they can do to help you. Your loved ones who live far away and cannot be there for you in-person themselves may be especially interested in an opportunity to support you during this time. Additionally, I am happy to work with you in coming up with a payment plan if requested. If you are still uncertain how you can afford doula care, please reach out so we can make sure you can get connected with the support and resources you need.

While you probably have given a lot of thought and preparation to the needs of your baby, I encourage you to view hiring a doula as an opportunity to invest in something specifically for you during this important time in your life. A doula can provide professional, personalized, in-home care for your specific pregnancy and/or postpartum needs. As a mother who hired a postpartum doula, I can confidently say that you won’t regret having the extra support.
